A true and honest train wreck. One of those you can’t look away (stop reading) because you have to know what happens. I feel bad for both characters, the definitely didn’t love each other. Poor Andrea was just a child. Immature and innocent. She shouldn’t have had to have been forced into a marriage with all those doubts and uncertainties. The girl needed to leave that ranch and live her life. Go and find the authorities and go into witness protection or flee to Columbia. Anything. Ever single action kept making me wonder why she did the things she did. But then I realised she was young and along. No part of this book was romantic. From her first kiss with the man, her first time, the marriage. She was too young to be what Braden really needed, and she didn’t know how to stand behind her constant No.Poor Braden deserved an older woman, someone he didn’t have to convince to love and be with him. He was in the wrong for all of that. The author made him to be a predator. Not a romance at all. Andrea needed a new beginning. Her father was dead and everything that he left was sold to pay off a loan shark. This same loan shark was circling Andrea and he wanted more than money. Andrea escaped to the first job she could find as far from Texas as she could get....Braden’s Wyoming ranch as a housekeeper.The sparks between them were fast and plentiful. Braden was gruff and unwelcoming but he had hidden depths....and hidden pain. This book was awesome! Braden was such a growly but sweet character....I liked Andrea but she was so whiny at times....but I guess that made sense....she was going through a lot trying to escape the beyond nasty villain.....AND she was very young. The book had some great tense action. The HEA was satisfying and the book nicely set up the next installment in the series....Caid’s story. I have found a wonderful author to follow...Jazz Matthews....
